who we are.

We are a multicultural Christian church who values community, family, and walking life’s journey together.

In 1995 our story began in Salamanca with founding pastors, Lucas and Annie Jacometti. Since then we have occupied many different locations including the Stanley Burbury Theatre, and the Odeon Theatre which we owned for 10 years.

In early 2017, Shaun and Mirella White were appointed the Senior Pastors of C3 Church Hobart. We are now one church in two locations! In South Hobart we have our own building where we also operate the Rivulet Cafe and the C3 Convention Centre. In 2019 our second location was planted in the Huon Valley, where a thriving church community meets every Sunday afternoon in the Scout Hall in Huonville.

OUR PASTORS

Shaun & Mirella love encouraging authentic, relational community and championing people in their faith journey.

Together, they’ve been part of diverse Church families across Australia and overseas before moving to Tassie and joining C3 Hobart in 2012. That same year, Mirella began to serve in the finance team, then came on staff as our Business Manager until Shaun joined her in 2016, and they became our Senior Pastors.

Shaun grew up in the pews. As an intensive-care paramedic for over twenty years, he has gained practical crisis care skills and postgraduate studies in leadership. His is a life lived authentically for Jesus. Mirella experienced life-changing freedom in Christ at 19 and is passionate about others experiencing this freedom, too. She has a background in finance and has completed a Master's Degree with the Australian College of Christian Studies. Shaun and Mirella have two grown daughters and two sons-in-law.

Backing them is a fantastic team passionate about pursuing God’s vision for our vibrant Church and walking the journey of faith together.

Our vision is to reach people on a journey to faith and to build strong followers of Christ.

  • We believe there is one God: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ the Son of God; we believe in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His victorious and atoning death, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, His constant intercession and in His imminent return.

We believe in the person and work of the Holy Spirit and accompanying fruits and gifts available in the Church; The Bible is the living word of God. It is infallible, authoritative and everlasting and is the foundation of all Christian doctrine.

We believe in the existence of an evil spiritual being known as the devil.

We believe in the spiritually lost condition of all people and the essential need for the new birth by faith in Jesus Christ.

We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit as a gift available to believers subsequent to the new birth, with normal evidence of speaking in other tongues.

We believe in the sacraments of the Lord's Supper and baptism by full immersion in water for all believers.

We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost, the one to everlasting life and the other to everlasting separation from God.

We believe in the church being the body of Christ, and each member being an active part of a local church, fulfilling the Great Commission.

  • Modern in practice and traditional in belief, C3 Church is an international movement of local churches, characterised by bright, enthusiastic, culturally relevant services with a message of faith, hope and love. We are united with Christ in His vision, and therefore our mission, to save the lost, make disciples, and build His church.

  • We love connecting with our community and this extends to our interactions with the natural environment.

In the book of Genesis, God talks about the importance of the environment and mandates our role as stewards of the natural world. This responsibility to care for our earth also aligns with what scientists are telling us about the state of the environment. All positive change, big and small, can have a considerable impact on the health of our earth and we who live in it.

As a church, we are continuously looking for practical ways that we can care for our natural environment.

Here are some steps that we’ve taken to date at C3 Hobart:

    • In 2021, 2022 and 2023, as part of our annual “But To Serve” initiative, we did a huge clean-up of the Rivulet that surrounds our beautiful South Hobart location. In total, we’ve collected over 1000 pieces of rubbish from along the track and waterways.

    • Installation of recycling bins into our atrium and auditorium to ensure that we are being responsible with the waste that we generate through our Café, Convention Centre, and Church operations.

    • The C3 Kids team conducts lessons for the kids, focusing on the importance of our role as carers for our natural environment.

    • We are currently looking into installing FOGO bins so that food scraps from the Café are composted.

C3 CONVENTION CENTRE & RIVULET CAFE

As part of our Church's ministry, our South Hobart location operates a Convention Centre and Cafe that is open to the public during the week.

The Rivulet Café is nestled in the heart of South Hobart overlooking a beautiful bush setting alongside the Hobart Rivulet. With free parking, a secure playground for the kids and a warm, sunlit environment, you will not find a more welcoming place to spend time with a friend, colleague, mum’s group or interest group.

The C3 Convention Centre is one of Hobart’s most unique venues, with polished concrete floors, internal bridge, floor to ceiling windows, skylights, views of the Rivulet and trees, outdoor lawn areas, high ceilings, and free off street parking for 200+ vehicles – it is simply stunning.
