Safe Night Space
Hobart City Mission runs Hobart’s only shelter for the Homeless. “Night Space” as it’s known, is a place where homeless people can book a bed for a night, knowing they will have a roof over their head and some food to eat.
OUR TEAM: We are working to develop a new team that will visit Night Space once a month to serve a meal and hang out with those there that night. Our heart is to make connections, serve dinner, chat, play a game of cards, lend a hand or just hang out.
WHO: Males and females over the age of 18, and would need to have a WWVP Card and a police check done. Hobart City Mission’s Volunteer online training would also need to be completed. You also need to have been attending our church regularly for about a year.
WHEN & WHERE: It is in the city area and likely to be a Friday or Saturday night once a month.
EXPRESS INTEREST
Please Note: Due to the nature of this team, please be aware that anyone who would like to be involved will need to participate in a survey to ensure suitability and also undergo the appropriate training.
